BACKGROUND

Having spent my younger years almost entirely on a basketball court or pretending like I knew what I was doing in a weight room, finding myself in a Muay Thai gym in the fall of 2011 seemed about as unlikely of a pivot as I could imagine. I was hooked from the first day, and spent the next nine years at The Academy, competing on both the local and national circuits from 2013-2019. An injury in August 2019 derailed any plans I had of fighting professionally, but allowed me to delve deeper into the art of movement as a whole. Yoga came into my life in 2015 to help me kick higher, and after leaving my job as an elementary gym teacher, I took the leap in January 2021 to become a 200-hour certified teacher through 612Jungle. Between teaching yoga at multiple studios and instructing at numerous gyms for both general fitness as well as Muay Thai, I have logged thousands of hours under my belt guiding various forms of movement. My personal movement practice blends everything together; distance running, weightlifting, yoga, and Muay Thai all make up a typical week for me. My main goal when teaching is simple: to help you realize your capacity, both for movement and stillness.
